Summary :
Assists providers with throughput of patients in the office, primarily with orders and authorizations for procedures and treatment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Obtains orders for physician review Generates / initiates order / powerplan per physician recommendation Performs appropriate documentation in medical record / EHR Assist with ordering labs per provider protocol Initiate and follow up on prior authorizations Assists in scheduling outpatient procedures Maintains patient flow Assists with medication reconciliation per provider protocol Triages calls
Required Qualifications :
Education and Training :
High School Diploma or equivalent. Certification as a medical assistant preferred Outpatient procedural or specialty clinic experience preferred. Experience with EMR systems, order entry, and chart review Knowledge of ICD10 and CPT coding Strong understanding of medication documentation and reconciliation
