Job Description

Twin City Staffing is hiring a heat-treat lab technician to perform metallurgical testing in a heat-treating environment. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Location : Fridley, MN

Wage : $25 - $28 per hour

Hours : Monday - Friday, 7 : 00 AM - 3 : 30 PM

Duties of the heat-treat lab technician :

  • Perform hardness, microstructure, and other metallurgical tests
  • Prepare metal samples (cutting, polishing, mounting) for analysis
  • Operate and maintain lab equipment, including furnaces, polishers, microscopes, and hardness testers
  • Monitor heat-treating processes to ensure proper part specifications
  • Document results and ensure quality standards are met
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of lab equipment
  • Maintain a safe and organized lab environment

    • Requirements of the heat-treat lab technician :

  • Knowledge of metallurgy and heat-treating principles
  • Experience with lab equipment and testing procedures
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and maintain attention to detail
