Description
Hennepin County's Public Health Clinic is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician. This position will be responsible for performing routine clinical diagnostic tests, collecting and processing specimen, performing quality control procedures, monitoring results, and making corrections within laboratory procedures and protocols.

Location and hours :
This position is located at the Health Services Building at 525 Portland Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55415. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, with typical hours of 8 a.m. to 4 : 30 p.m. Shift schedules are subject to change due to division programming changes. Once late clinic hours resume two days a week, there will be the expectation that this position will work one shift per week with the hours of 11 a.m. to 7 : 30 p.m.

In this position, you will :
- Perform routine clinical diagnostic tests.
- Collect and process specimen.
- Perform routine quality control of laboratory equipment and maintain applicable documentation and records.
- Enter and monitor patient lab results in electronic health record.
- Assist with Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) certification.
- Communicate results and follow procedures for reporting to medical / clinical staff.
- Use of electronic medical record (EMR) to document patient results.
- Supply monitoring and ordering, as necessary.
- Create and follow lab safety regulations and guidelines.
