Job Title : Clinical Laboratory ScientistJob Description

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist will perform pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical testing phases of all complexities, as defined by CLIA. This includes specialized tests and analyses in areas such as Hematology, Microbiology, Clinical Chemistry, Urinalysis, Immunohematology, Serology, and Parasitology. The role requires obtaining data for diagnostic purposes and recording laboratory test results accurately.

Responsibilities

Perform and report test results for all clinical laboratory procedures, both automated and manual, without immediate review by supervisory staff.

Demonstrate proficiency and understanding of fundamental principles of clinical laboratory procedures with minimal supervision.

Monitor and ensure accountability for test data, quality control, quality assurance, preventive maintenance, proficiency testing, and all laboratory testing operations.

Notify the supervisory team of any irregularities or factors that may influence test results.

Troubleshoot equipment and test methods as needed.

Monitor supplies and reagents, notifying appropriate parties of par levels.

Perform clerical duties or support tasks, such as phlebotomy on inpatients and outpatients, as necessary.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in phlebotomy, specimen processing, and CLIA-compliant testing.

Generalist License.

Experience with both automated and manual testing procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License, ideally a Generalist license.

High School Education or GED required.

Work Environment

The position requires availability for 12-hour shifts, either AM or PM, with schedules running from 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am. Candidates must be available for a full schedule, including weekends, and be on call as needed. The position was created due to increased volume and the need for more coverage. Openings are available in Chino Hills, Riverside, Ontario, Victorville, Fontana, and Murrieta. The dress code is professional attire or scrubs.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $150.00 - $150.00 / hr.
