Position Overview
The Physician Liaison Manager is a player-coach leadership role responsible for driving new patient growth, referral development, and community engagement initiatives across assigned markets. This individual will lead, mentor, and develop the Physician Liaison (PL) team while also directly managing a territory in Tennessee.
The role combines strategic oversight with hands-on execution. The Physician Liaison Manager will establish performance standards, analyze market data, support territory planning, and ensure alignment with organizational growth objectives, while actively building and maintaining provider relationships within their own assigned TN territory.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management
- Lead, coach, and develop the Physician Liaison team to achieve regional growth and referral targets.
- Establish clear performance expectations, KPIs, and accountability standards for PLs.
- Conduct regular field rides, territory reviews, and performance check-ins to provide feedback and support.
- Partner with senior leadership to develop annual growth strategies and territory expansion plans.
- Identify training needs and implement ongoing development initiatives for the PL team.
- Monitor team performance metrics and adjust strategies to optimize results.
Territory Management
- Directly manage the Tennessee territory, executing all Physician Liaison responsibilities within that market.
- Build and maintain strong referral relationships with physicians, clinics, hospitals, and healthcare influencers.
- Develop and execute territory-specific plans to increase new patient volume.
- Utilize Buxton and other analytics tools to identify and prioritize target markets and practices.
- Represent QualDerm Partners at local events, conferences, and community health fairs.
- Collaborate with marketing and operations to plan, budget, and execute outreach initiatives.
- Track referral trends and performance using ModMed and other reporting tools to identify opportunities for growth.
Strategic and Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with marketing to develop messaging, collateral, and campaigns that support referral growth.
- Collaborate with operations and clinical leadership to ensure alignment between growth initiatives and capacity.
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to guide strategic decisions.
- Act as a liaison between external providers and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and strengthen partnerships.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or related field Preferred. Will evaluate work experience as well.
- 5 - 10 years of experience in healthcare operations roles, preferably in a physician liaison or similar capacity Preferred. Will consider other relative sales experience.
- Demonstrated past team leadership experience, including the ability to motivate, mentor, and guide team members to achieve performance goals and maintain a collaborative work environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of ModMed (Modernizing Medicine) or similar electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred.
- Experience in healthcare or pharmaceuticals is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and establish credibility with healthcare professionals.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
- Proven track record of driving results and achieving performance targets in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, with a strong sense of accountability and professionalism.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory
