Job Summary
We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will collect blood from patients, take their vitals and do various patient contact intake. This is a role that can make a significant impact in people’s lives, helping them identify underlying conditions and stay healthy.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize requests for sample collection based on urgency
- Collect patients’ personal information
- Take vitals and perform some lab work.
- Provide patients with reassurance during the collection process
- Use sterilized needles, vials, and other equipment to draw blood
- Correctly label samples and send for testing
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Phlebotomist or Phlebotomy Technician
- Phlebotomy diploma preferred
- Knowledge of best practices in patient identification methods
- Familiarity with the legal requirements regarding blood draws and fluid samples
- Strong computer and data entry skills
- Certified Medical Assistant
