Summary :
Develops and provides services related to the orientation, continuing education, and assessment of the ongoing competency of clinical staff.
- Magnet recognition for nursing excellence

Must have minimum of 3 years of experience in Pediatric CVICU
Responsibilities :
Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
Participates in research activities, quality improvement, or evidence-based practice initiatives.
Supports an environment that promotes evidence based nursing practice based on nursing research, scientific inquiry, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.
Serves as a consultant / mentor / change agent for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development.
Plans, updates, and evaluates clinical competencies to assess quality of patient care delivered and ensure regulatory compliance on assigned unit(s).
Participates in the development, coordination, and delivery of all education activities on assigned unit(s).
Uses the best available evidence to guide practice decisions.
May perform clinical patient care when needed.
Manages the onboarding and orientation of all new employees and students on assigned unit(s).
Collaborates with nursing leaders and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff.

Education and Certification Requirements :
Bachelors : Nursing (Required)BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART), PALS American Heart_non ecard (PALS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART), Registered Nurse License (RN LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)
Additional Job Information :
Complexity of Work : Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Required Work Experience : Three (3) years nursing experience. Candidates for Clinical Nurse Educator RN Fellowship positions may apply after completion of two (2) years' nursing experience.
Other Information : Department Specific : JDC- Hematology / Oncology : APHON Provider and PALS required.
