Who You Are: Amoskeag Health is seeking a temporary Nurse Practitioner with experience or interest in family planning and reproductive health to join our integrated primary care team.
This provider works collaboratively with family medicine clinicians to deliver patient-centered, evidence-based family planning services to a diverse community in Manchester, New Hampshire.
You will support continuity of care by addressing acute gynecologic concerns and providing preventive health maintenance exams for patients who are overdue for routine services.
This position is ideally 8 hours per week, temporary up to 6 months.
What You'll Do: Provides well-patient contraceptive services, primarily LARC's (long-acting reversible contraceptives), and counseling.
Maintains prescriptive authority to order medication within scope of practice.
Develops and maintains working relationships with physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, nutrition educators, parent educators and support services whose roles interface with patients for promotion of an environment that fosters a high level of quality care in a system that is sensitive to the inputs of multiple care providers.
Documents care provided in the electronic medical record, and records family planning functions within the medical center.
Follows appropriate coding guidelines and documents follow-up care as it relates to diagnostic testing.
Takes personal responsibility for maintaining professional licensure as well as obtaining ongoing continuing education.
Is sensitive to cultural diversity and social determinants of health.
Maintains client age-related competencies.
Attends mandatory safety-related and infection control in-services as designated by the Senior Management Team.
Participates in other administrative/clinical meetings and short/long term projects that impact the process improvement of Amoskeag Health services.
Other responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor.
