• Provide leadership and direction to the PCU nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, to ensure the delivery of safe and effective patient care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols for the PCU, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
• Conduct regular rounds to assess patient care needs, address concerns, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Oversee staff scheduling, assignments, and staffing levels to ensure adequate coverage and optimal patient-staff ratios.
• Provide mentorship, coaching, and ongoing education to nursing staff to promote professional growth and development.
• Participate in performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and recruitment efforts for PCU nursing staff.
• Manage budgetary and resource allocation for the PCU, including equipment, supplies, and staffing expenses.
• Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, physicians, administration, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate communication and collaboration.
• Monitor and analyze PCU performance metrics, such as patient outcomes, satisfaction scores, and staff productivity, and implement initiatives to achieve performance goals.
• Ensure adherence to infection control protocols, safety standards, and quality improvement initiatives within the PCU.

Candidate requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive nursing experience, including previous leadership or management experience in a PCU or similar acute care setting.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are required.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and healthcare best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and inspire a team of healthcare professionals.
• Proficiency in computer skills and healthcare technology applications.
