About the Position
KPG Healthcare is currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pharmacist for a permanent position. As a Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional pharmaceutical care, ensuring the safe and effective use of medications, and collaborating with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes. - Pay: N/A, Depending on experience
- Shift Time: Days 8 hours Full-Time | Day Shift, every 4th weekend and occasional evening shifts
- Weekly Hours: 40
Qualifications:
- Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited pharmacy program.
- Licensure: Current state licensure as a Pharmacist, in good standing.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Pharmacist is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in pharmacy software systems and knowledge of drug information resources.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication, empathy, and the ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams and patients.
- Professionalism: Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, adhering to ethical and confidentiality standards.
- Physical Requirements: Capable of standing for extended periods, lifting and handling medications, and performing pharmacy-related tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Medication Dispensing: Accurately and efficiently dispense prescribed medications, ensuring proper labeling and patient counseling.
- Medication Review: Review medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and potential drug interactions, consulting with prescribers as needed.
- Patient Counseling: Provide medication counseling to patients, addressing questions, concerns, and instructions on medication use, side effects, and precautions.
- Drug Information: Offer drug information and clinical support to healthcare professionals, assisting with therapeutic decisions.
- Medication Therapy Management: Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize medication therapy, including dose adjustments and regimen changes.
- Pharmacy Operations: Oversee pharmacy operations, including inventory management, ordering medications, and maintaining proper storage conditions.
- Compounding: Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounded medications following established protocols and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance programs and ensure compliance with all pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records, including medication profiles, clinical notes, and interventions, in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
- Patient Safety: Promote medication safety initiatives and report adverse drug events and near misses as required.
- Continuing Education: Stay current with the latest advancements in pharmacy practice through ongoing education and professional development.
