CMM Operator (2nd Shift)
Location: Cary, IL
Shift: 2nd Shift (Monday–Thursday, 3: PM – 2: AM)
Pay: $.–$./hour + Overtime Available
Are you an experienced Quality Inspector looking to take the next step in your career? We're seeking a detail-oriented CMM Operator to join a growing manufacturing team. Previous CMM experience is a plus—but not required. If you have a strong quality inspection background and experience using precision measuring tools, we'll provide the training needed to become successful in this role.
This is an excellent opportunity to work a four-day workweek while building valuable skills in Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) inspection.
Responsibilities
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections on precision machined components.
- Learn and operate Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Apply basic GD&T principles to verify part conformance.
- Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, thread gages, and gage pins.
- Record inspection results and communicate quality concerns to production personnel.
- Work closely with CNC machinists and manufacturing teams to maintain product quality.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Qualifications
- 1+ year of manufacturing quality inspection experience preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and understand basic GD&T.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment such as: Micrometers Calipers Thread gages Gage pins
- Basic computer and math skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Willingness to learn CMM operation and inspection software.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
