Technology Manager

Opa-locka, FL | Full Time | Onsite | Roughly 20 employees in this office location

California Closets has been a leader in custom storage design for over 40 years. We design and manufacture high-quality storage solutions that help people organize and improve their homes.

Our Miami operation supports both a design office and an in-house manufacturing facility where custom solutions are produced.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Technology Manager to oversee the technology environment that supports both our office operations and production facility.

This is a highly trusted role responsible for managing IT infrastructure, supporting engineering and design systems, and ensuring reliable technology operations across the organization.

The Technology Manager will serve as the primary technology leader locally and will initially operate as a one-person IT department, with opportunities to expand the function as the company grows.

This role works closely with company leadership, design teams, engineering staff, and corporate IT resources.

Key Responsibilities

IT Operations

  • Provide helpdesk and technical support to internal staff
  • Manage employee onboarding from a technology perspective including workstation setup, permissions, and system access
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and system issues
  • Maintain performance across workstations, printers, phones, and network infrastructure

CAD & Engineering System Support

  • Support designers and engineers using CAD platforms
  • Maintain integrations between design software and production systems
  • Ensure accuracy and reliability of engineering data used in manufacturing workflows

Production Technology

  • Troubleshoot technology issues impacting CNC machines and factory equipment
  • Coordinate with machinery vendors and support teams when issues arise
  • Assist in diagnosing system connectivity and software issues affecting production

Infrastructure & Security

  • Maintain servers, networks, backup systems, and security protocols
  • Manage operating system updates, patching, and monitoring
  • Ensure strong cybersecurity practices and reliable system performance

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows using software, automation tools, or AI technologies
  • Implement systems that improve efficiency across design, engineering, and internal operations

Documentation

  • Maintain documentation for internal systems and workflows
  • Track system changes and maintain clear technical documentation

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is:

  • A self-starter who can operate independently
  • Friendly and approachable when supporting internal teams
  • Reliable and highly accountable
  • Curious about improving systems and processes
  • Comfortable communicating with both technical and non-technical users

Benefits

  • Competitive salary
  • Health insurance
  • Paid vacation
  • Growth opportunities within a growing design and manufacturing company
  • Collaboration with both local leadership and corporate IT teams
