A company is looking for a Coder in Provider Practice - Orthopedics and Podiatry.

Key Responsibilities

Review medical documentation and assign appropriate codes (ICD-10, HCPCS, CPT) while ensuring compliance with coding standards

Serve as a resource for providers regarding covered indications and supporting documentation

Participate in coding team meetings and provide recommendations to improve documentation accuracy

Required Qualifications

Associate degree in Health Information Technology or Certification in Coding required

Knowledge of diagnostic and procedural terminology, including ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding schemes

Certifications such as RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CPC-A, CCS, CCS-P, CCS-H, or COC are required

Must obtain certification within one year of hire if not certified at the time of hire
