The Welder position lays out, fits, and welds fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms, such as tanks, pressure vessels, furnace shells, pipe and building and bridge parts. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Foreman; Assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently.Shift: Days 6-10'sEssential Qualifications:High school or equivalentMinimum four (4) years of experience in specified skillMust be able to pass a weld test before being hiredMust be certified as a welderPer diem available, must be atleast 50 miles from the jobsite to qualifyPost offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the company Drug, Alcohol and Contraband PolicyComply with company and client job site safety requirementsMust not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace Functional Requirements:Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly and welding; lays out, positions, aligns and fits components together; bolts, clamps, tack welds parts to secure in position for welding; sets up equipment and welds parts; may assemble parts by bolting and riveting; may weld pipe such as carbon steel, stainless steel, chrome, etc. by process of arc, heliarc, gas, mig, tig, etc.; may weld pipe, sheet metal, structural steel, brackets or other materials; may repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping and reassembling parts; may use cutting torch to cut materials and demo existing assemblies. CompensationFinal agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
