California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) is a preeminent center of intellectual and cultural activity in the Inland Empire region of Southern California. JOB SUMMARY

Both our lower-division and upper-division undergraduate courses are 3-unit courses. Each is taught twice a week on campus (either at our San Bernardino campus or our Palm Desert Campus) for one and a half hours per class session, during the Fall and Spring semesters (15 weeks each). Instructors prepare their syllabi, assignments, classroom activities, lecture materials, and grading rubrics, and teach the courses following department guidelines. Instructors or these courses also hold limited office hours in which they can meet with students who need help, have questions, and require advice about their coursework.

TYPICAL ACTIVITIES

Qualified candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population and to working effectively with faculty, staff and students.

Typical duties include: preparing al materials for teaching assigned courses, in-class teaching, and evaluating student coursework and grading assignments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Master of Arts degree in Communication Studies, Strategic Communication, Public Relations, or a suitably related discipline.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in hand by time of appointment (minimum: Master of Arts degree in Communication Studies, or a suitably related discipline).
  • Demonstration of teaching experience at higher education level.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Evidence of scholarly activity, publication, and innovation is valued.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.

Studying communication and media creates opportunities for our students in a wide range of career fields in fast-growing, evolving and exciting industries.

We offer a , with concentrations in , , and . We also have a where students can work with faculty advisers to create an individualized curriculum of courses.

We also offer the for students returning to college to develop their career and enhance their research. Students can specialize in a field of study of their choice, and teach as a Graduate Teaching Associate.

Lecturer A (Range 2) - $5,507 – $6,677

Lecturer B (Range 3) - $6,221 – $13,224

Lecturer C (Range 4) - $6,825 – $14,523

Lecturer D (Range 5) - $8,593 – $15,211
