About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Commercial Legal Affairs to join our dynamic legal team. In this pivotal role, you will support intricate commercial transactions, encompassing SaaS agreements, licensing, and strategic partnerships. Your expertise will ensure our compliance with various legal frameworks, especially those pertaining to artificial intelligence.

As a leader, you will scale and manage a global team of commercial legal professionals while offering strategic legal counsel across various business functions. The successful candidate will possess a proactive and business-minded approach, hold a JD, and bring at least 10 years of experience in commercial law, particularly within technology or SaaS sectors.

Your responsibilities will include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a diverse array of commercial agreements. Moreover, you will stay updated on legal developments related to data protection, technology, and AI. We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record in negotiating commercial and technology agreements and the ability to offer clear, pragmatic, and commercially-focused legal advice.

We value strong knowledge in enterprise software licensing, AI, SaaS, data protection, and intellectual property, along with experience in privacy, cybersecurity, and cross-border data transfer matters. The ideal candidate will excel in communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills, and be adept at balancing legal risks with organizational needs.
