Qualifications:
• Four-year degree in journalism or its equivalent required
• Experience in journalism, marketing, public relations, or similar field required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent writing and editing skills
• Experience in all social media platforms and analytics preferred, as well as website management
• Ability to shoot and edit video, as well as still photography
• Strong technology skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and Canva
• Proven track record managing multiple projects on deadline

The Independence School District is seeking a personable and enthusiastic Public Relations Specialist to join our team. This rolewill support our PR department by executing strategic communication initiatives, maintaining positiverelationships with ISD stakeholders, and supporting district initiatives.

The Public Relations Specialist will be employed for a twelve-month position. The salary and work year will be established by the Board of Education.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated by the immediate supervisor, using the Public Relations Specialist Performance-Based Summative Evaluation.
