Systems Administrator (Linux) Compensation The pay for this position is $37–$41 per hour (based on experience) Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment A 401(k) with a company match is available to full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates Systems Administrator (Linux) Highlights The required availability for this position is Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Onsite role in Boise, ID Opportunity to work closely with engineering teams supporting critical infrastructure Systems Administrator (Linux) Requirements 3+ years of Linux administration experience Red Hat experience Associate’s degree required with substantial Linux administration experience Strong hands-on experience supporting and troubleshooting Linux environments Experience with physical and virtual servers Familiarity with data center / on-prem infrastructure environments Intermediate scripting skills ( Bash, Python, or similar ) Basic experience with configuration management tools (Puppet or Ansible) Exposure to virtualization technologies Basic understanding of cloud concepts and provisioning Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and in a team environment Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days Systems Administrator (Linux) Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting large-scale server environments Exposure to AWS or other cloud platforms Experience with automation and system optimization initiatives Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) Systems Administrator (Linux) Responsibilities Installs, maintains and upgrades internal Linux computer hardware and software systems used for designing and developing company products. Controls user access. Proposes and implements systems enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system. Monitors usage and performance. Trains personnel on system usage. We are a team of Administrators who work very closely with our engineering colleagues to provide the highest quality engineering support for Microns Technology Development teams. As a member of this team your focus will be providing server support for Microns Engineering design teams to ensure solutions meet or exceed business requirements. In this role you will be expected to suggest, promote, and leverage published standards to minimize environment complexity and ensure high server uptime and availability. Provide best in class computer support for engineering design teams Provide technical direction and escalation for technologies maintained within the Linux compute space Drive innovation and automation of computer solutions both internally and for our customers Provisioning of systems both physical and virtual. Drive configuration management through puppet Monitor overall health of the Unix/Linux environment with an emphasis on proactive discovery of potential issues Continually work to improve Linux compute environment through automation. Propose and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of systems and services.
