Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This position seeks a dedicated Teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, specializing in high school education within the Dallas / Fort Worth area. The contract role is full-time (35 hours per week), Monday through Friday, with part-time opportunities potentially available. The assignment involves working with a high school caseload and requires certification to teach high school core subjects.
Responsibilities include delivering specialized instruction tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, utilizing computer technologies to support learning, and collaborating with audiologists and other specialists to enhance educational outcomes. The role demands expertise in English and other core subjects, ensuring compliance with state educational standards.
Qualifications and Desired Experience :
- Active Texas Department of Education (TX DOE) Certification for teaching high school core subjects.
- Experience working with deaf and hard of hearing students.
- Strong computer skills for instructional purposes.
- Background in audiology or collaboration experience with audiologists is preferred.
- Ability to develop and deliver effective lesson plans aligned with curriculum requirements.
