La Casa de Don Pedro, Inc. (LCDP) was founded in 1972 by a group of local activists seeking to establish educational and
charitable programs to meet the needs of Newarks Puerto Rican community.
Named in honor of Don Pedro Albizu Campos, LCDP has since evolved to become the largest Latinx-led organization in
the state of New Jersey, serving 50,000 Newark and Essex County residents annually under three central pillars: Early
Childhood (Prenatal, Early Head Start, Head Start, and Pre-K); Healthy Homes (Low Income Home Energy Assistance
Program, Weatherization, Lead Remediation/Abatement); and Community Empowerment (Women & Family Center,
Immigration, Workforce Readiness, Youth Enrichment, Housing & Home Ownership Support, and Community

Who we Seek
La Casa de Don Pedro seeks a Lead Construction Manager to support the Managing Director in daily operations of
Healthy Homes Programs. Responsibilities include project development, outcome monitoring, and contractor
coordination. This role is vital to the Healthy Homes Pillar team and contributes to La Casa de Don Pedros overall
efficiency through timely, personalized support.
Duties and Responsibilities:
? Support lead program implementation, including strategy, operations, project development, and unit
construction budgeting
? The Lead Construction Manager will oversee the lead team members, manage payroll processing, and ensure
compliance with project timelines.
? Monitor progress toward goals and ensure alignment with organizational benchmarks
? Build and maintain partnerships to foster collaboration and program success
? Oversee lead risk assessments, hazard control, and clearance activities for compliance
? Develop work scopes based on assessments, LIRA and work through visual inspections
? Manage all aspects of subcontractor engagement, including estimates, requisitions, contracting, project
initiation, on-site oversight, and closeout.
? Supervise on-site construction to ensure quality and regulatory adherence to HUD and NJDCA lead regulations.
? Foster trust and engagement with program members and community stakeholders
? Track and maintain member records, unit progress, and budget compliance to support accurate reporting and
accountability.
? Assist with outreach and marketing to promote program awareness and participation
? Contribute to community outreach and marketing efforts to promote awareness and participation in the lead
program.
? Actively participates in senior leadership meetings and professional development opportunities to support
continuous improvement.
? Evaluate grant performance against established goals and objectives and provide regular updates to the
Managing Director.
? Perform additional duties as assigned to support program operations and organizational priorities.

Educational, Required Skills and Experience Requirements:
? Bachelors degree in a related field required
? Lead Worker and Lead Supervisor State Certification required
? Minimum three years experience in project and construction management
? Proven experience in staff supervision and professional development
? Demonstrated expertise in lead-safe renovation, repair, or abatement
? Experience working with diverse populations and in high-stress environments
? Strong program management skills; able to oversee multiple initiatives
? Effective verbal and written communication skills
? Skilled in engaging in diverse communities with cultural sensitivity
? Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management abilities
? Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
? Fluency in written and spoken English required
? Multilingual proficiency is a plus, especially for outreach to diverse communities
? Willingness to travel in-state and out-of-state for meetings, trainings, and conferences
? Must hold a valid New Jersey drivers license in good standing and be able to commute as needed
The following competencies are considered assets but are not required: EPA Lead RRP certification, experience with lead hazard
control and healthy homes programs, familiarity with HUD or NJDCA guidelines, multilingual proficiency, and emergency response
training (First Aid, CPR, EpiPen, Narcan).
Physical Requirements:
? Must be able to wear both full and half-mask respirators while working in confined spaces.
? Duties may involve exposure to a range of extreme weather conditions.
? Regular physical activity required, including standing, walking, reaching, and using hands for handling or feeling
objects.
? Occasional activities may include sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
? Must be able to frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 30 pounds.

Compensation, Schedule, and Other Information:
? Employment type: Full-Time
? FLSA status: Exempt

? Reports to: Sr. Director of Operations
? Schedule: 9:00am 5:00pm with availability for occasional evening and weekend commitments.
? Compensation: Annual salary of $70,000
