As we foster a culture of inclusion throughout our company and within our communities, we constantly ask ourselves: What is our impact on the world? Each and every role throughout our organization makes a difference in our ability to change the world for the better. We believe architecture is more than designing buildings, it's about providing solutions to societal challenges and creating stronger, more vibrant communities. In the role of Construction Administrator, we'll count on you to:

  • Process change orders, evaluate cost and schedule impacts and secure approvals
  • Maintain project correspondence, transmittals, and an auditable document trail during construction
  • Administer contracts, including issuing and maintaining contract documents, amendments
  • Review and process pay applications and invoices, verifying compliance with contract terms and coordinating with contractors
  • Coordinate communication between owners, architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to keep the project aligned and on schedule
  • Apply knowledge of regulatory compliance, including permits, building codes, and quality standards
  • Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree of Construction Management or Architectural/Building Engineering
  • Ability to interpret construction contracts/documents
  • Ability to interpret construction schedules, pay apps, progress
  • Understand building construction means and methods
  • Proficient with Newforma software

Required Qualifications:

  • 7 years contract-related experience; advanced degree or contract certification program may substitute for years of experience
  • Working to expert knowledge of contracting concepts and company and client requirements
  • Professional, self-motivated, well-organized and detail-oriented with the flexibility and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines, with minimal management oversight
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software, including complex MS Excel spreadsheets with formulas
  • Excellent writing and people skills
  • Strong math, analytical and organizational skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

HDR is our company. Together, we build on each other's life experiences and perspectives to make great things possible every day. This shapes our collaborative culture, encourages organizational trust and connects us closer to the clients and communities we serve. As employee owners, we all have a role in creating an inclusive environment where each of us is welcomed, valued, respected and empowered to bring our authentic selves to work every day. Our eight Employee Network Groups (Asian Pacific, Black, Hispanic/Latino(a), LGBTQ+, People with Disabilities, Veterans, Women, Young Professionals) help create a sense of belonging and foster a supportive environment where everyone is empowered to engage and contribute. Each group has an executive sponsor and is open to all employees.
