This role oversees quality control for complex electrical construction projects involving high and medium voltage systems in the Pensacola area. The Construction Quality Control Manager ensures that all work on a high-voltage substation and related medium-voltage distribution infrastructure meets project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements, while coordinating closely with project teams to deliver reliable power systems across the site.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all quality control activities for high-voltage substation and medium-voltage electrical construction projects.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific quality control plans, procedures, and documentation.
  • Inspect and verify construction work for compliance with drawings, specifications, codes, and applicable standards.
  • Coordinate and document quality inspections for major trades involved in the contract, including electrical and civil scopes.
  • Identify nonconformances, document deficiencies, and drive timely corrective and preventive actions.
  • Work closely with superintendents, project managers, project engineers, and trade partners to resolve quality issues and maintain construction standards.
  • Review and approve quality-related submittals, test reports, and inspection records.
  • Oversee and verify testing and commissioning activities for high and medium voltage systems, including transformers and related equipment.
  • Monitor quality performance throughout the project lifecycle and recommend improvements to processes and procedures.
  • Participate in project meetings to report on quality status, risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Ensure that all quality control activities support a safe work environment and comply with applicable safety practices.
  • Maintain organized quality records and prepare reports for internal stakeholders and relevant authorities as required.
Essential Skills

  • At least 2 years of dedicated experience as a Quality Control Manager on construction projects.
  • Proven experience with medium-voltage electrical construction projects such as transformer replacements, data centers, photovoltaic (PV) farms, or base infrastructure and power distribution systems.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control principles, construction standards, and applicable codes for high and medium voltage electrical systems.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead quality processes, conduct inspections, and document findings accurately.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with field teams, engineers, and project leadership.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills to manage inspections, test records, and quality reports.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Background coordinating quality across multiple trades on complex construction contracts.
  • Proven ability to identify and resolve construction quality issues in a timely and collaborative manner.
  • Experience supporting testing and commissioning of electrical infrastructure.
  • Ability to contribute to continuous improvement of quality processes and procedures.
Work Environment

The role is based on an active construction site in the Pensacola area, focused on a high-voltage substation and medium-voltage power distribution infrastructure. The Construction Quality Control Manager works closely with field personnel, engineers, and project leadership in a dynamic environment that requires frequent site walks, inspections, and coordination in and around electrical equipment and construction activities. Work typically takes place in a combination of outdoor and partially enclosed areas where weather conditions and typical construction-site noise, dust, and movement of equipment are present.
