Job Summary The Communications Shift Supervisor will oversee and coordinate the operations of the Public Safety Telecommunicators assigned to his / her shift. The Communications Shift Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the highest quality service is provided to the citizens and public safety agencies served by Laraway Communications Center. The Communications Shift Supervisor will set an example of discipline, professionalism, courtesy, thoroughness, neatness, moderation, and dignity to subordinates at all times. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Must have at least three (3) years of continuous service as a Public Safety Telecommunicator or equivalent experience. Must obtain certification in LEADS / NCIC certifications within six (6) months of employment and maintain throughout duration of employment. Must obtain EMD (Emergency Medical Dispatch) certification within six (6) months of employment and maintain throughout the duration of employment. A consistent work history with a strong customer service background is preferred. Have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Expected to understand telecommunication technologies and how they interrelate to provide effective 9-1-1 communication services. Valid State of Illinois Driver’s License and minimum automobile insurance as required by law. Salary Range $86,318.00 - $103,727.00 D.O. Q
