Description :

The Director, Corporate Engagement is charged with growing and strengthening United Way of the Bluegrass relationships with corporations and employee market segments within those organizations. Cultivates relationships within all accounts, organizing and managing workplace campaigns to encourage increased participation and giving within all accounts, to maximize potential and reach desired division goals. Includes prospecting, developing relationships with non-giving accounts, and making cold calls. Ability to establish donor relationships with individuals and organizations. Contributes to and demonstrates ownership of organizational goals. He / She will be responsible for supervisor staff, creating and executing the short- and long-term account plans for each organization to maximize revenue. This outward facing role will require the candidate to be a leader who has the demonstrated ability to build strong, mutually beneficial relationships.

Requirements :

Relationship Management

  • Directly responsible for building mutually beneficial relationships with corporate partners and individuals within the portfolio and identifying opportunities to expand the portfolio.
  • Spend at least 50% of time out of the office to engage with donors and volunteers.
  • Research, identify, and develop relationships with non-giving accounts and achieve assigned percent of goal for new account development.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and empower staff and volunteers (and committees) to effectively and efficiently implement key strategies related to United Way of the Bluegrass.
  • Leverages relationships to create additional opportunities with other organizations and individuals.
  • Supervises staff and volunteers.

Campaign Management

  • Leads the workplace campaign team while utilizing gift officers with appropriate opportunities associated with major gifts and affinity groups.
  • Maintains accurate and detailed donor and account records in Andar and other systems to analyze the effectiveness of the plan against delivering objectives.
  • In conjunction with the Vice President, Resource Development helps create and execute annual account plans for the Resource Development team, and action steps needed to engage accounts on a year-round basis and to secure additional financial support for UWBG.
  • Tracks revenue generation, retention, visits, and key business activity throughout the year, provides regular activity status, update projections to target and conducts the appropriate account analysis to build and refine business goals.
  • Through the managing of key corporate accounts and individual relationships, increases revenue through workplace giving campaigns.
  • Executes each account plan in portfolio to see successful gains in revenue through corporate gifts, individual investments, corporate sponsorships and underwriting, and other engagements.
  • Promotes UWBG programs and offerings to accounts to build their support of UWBG’s work and to provide ways for their employees to benefit from the partnership.
  • Attends and provides support for UWBG events to build brand awareness and engage constituents.
  • Cross Functional Duties

  • Works effectively with the Development Team and other functions at UWBG to be able to provide appropriate support and value to partners.
  • Work with Marketing Team on all marketing and media efforts, including material and message development.
  • Creates an Employee Campaign Coordinator (ECC) Community to inspire a group of Campaign Coordinators to greater generosity of time, influence, and money.
  • Connects ECCs to the valuable role they play in creating Community Impact through successful workforce campaigns, year-round communication, increased volunteerism, and advocacy.
  • Represents UWBG at community events throughout the region.
  • Foster creative thinking and facilitate future partnerships within corporate accounts.

Collaborates with Community Impact Department (CI). Engages CI in donor engagement and fundraising by learning details of current community impact solutions. Shares information with CI about donor needs and interests to improve existing products and create new ones.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

    Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field (e.g. business, communications, nonprofit management, etc.) or work experience equivalent required.

  • 3-5 years of consultative sales or fundraising experience in either for-profit or non-profit entities required. Experience in United Way System and / or non-profit preferred.
  • 3-5 years of management experience required.
  • Able to demonstrate ability to increase revenue through implemented strategies and relationship-building skills
  • Able to demonstrate highly developed communication, organization and planning skills
  • Developed technical and analytical skills related to fund development Entrepreneurial and innovative thinking
  • Ability to present information and data in written, electronic and oral forms
  • Ability to plan and manage multiple tasks
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Must have the use of a reliable vehicle for transportation to outside meetings
  • Experience with CRM (Andar preferred).

  • WORK ENVIRONMENT

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc. This position will be primarily based out of the central UWBG office, hybrid work is possible one day a week with Manager approval. This position will require regular travel throughout the communities that we serve as necessary.

    EXPECTED WORK HOURS

    Monday through Friday, 8 : 30AM-5 : 00PM. Flextime hours must be approved by your manager. Must be willing to work a non-standard work schedule, including nights, weekends, and other unusual hours as requested.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    The employee must communicate clearly, in oral and written formats, with others in person, over the phone, and via other devices. The employee must be able to transcribe, read extensively, prepare, and analyze data and figures, and operate a computer and other standard office machinery. The employee must be able to lift, carry, push, and / or pull objects weighing up to 25 lbs.

    PRE-EMPLOYMENT SCREENING REQUIREMENTS

    Any candidate offered a position may be required to pass pre-employment screenings as mandated by UWBG. These screenings may include a national background check, language testing, and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review.

    BENEFITS

    Our robust benefits package includes 100% employer-paid premiums on employee-only health, dental, and vision plans; 3%-6% employer contributions to 401(k), employer-paid life, and STD insurance; generous parental leave policy, PTO, and more. Starting Salary is between $63,500-$70,000 annually.
