Job description

Senior Credit Analyst

More than 135 years ago, we started with core values that never go out of style: listen, learn and help businesses and individuals reach their goals. These core values shape our culture, and we were recently Great Place to Work Certified because of our outstanding workplace culture and employee experience. As well, our financial strength and stability are key reasons Forbes named us one of the Best 100 Banks in America for the ninth consecutive year.

With more than $16 billion in assets and 135 branch locations throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and California, we understand our role in the economy and take that responsibility seriously. In addition to offering a source of capital to personal banking clients and businesses of all sizes, we place a high importance on employee volunteerism and donate millions of dollars each year to community organizations.

As a Senior Credit Analyst, you'll play a key role in supporting sound lending decisions by analyzing complex commercial credit relationships and developing well-supported credit recommendations. This is an opportunity to apply your financial expertise, collaborate with lending partners, and help drive the success of our clients while mentoring and supporting team growth.

In this role you'll

  • Investigate credit and financial information for prospective and existing clients.
  • Analyze business and personal financial statements, tax returns, cash flows, collateral support, and repayment sources for new, renewed, and existing commercial loans.
  • Independently evaluate complex credit relationships and develop recommendations with minimal guidance.
  • Prepare spreadsheets, credit approval packages, credit proposals, financial summaries, and written opinions for loan decision makers.
  • Partner with lending teams to support effective credit risk assessment and portfolio management.
  • Support the Team Leader role and serve as a backup when needed.
  • Train, mentor, and support the development of new team members.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, security requirements, and applicable government regulations.

What we're looking for

  • You have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Law, Computer Science, or a related field (Required).
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • You have 4 or more years of experience as a Credit Analyst (Required).

What helps you shine

  • You have strong expertise in analyzing complex financial statements, tax returns, credit information, and cash flow performance.
  • You possess deep knowledge of credit investigations, collateral requirements, and commercial lending concepts.
  • You demonstrate exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills with a strong understanding of accounting principles.
  • You can manage a high volume of work while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • You adapt effectively to changing priorities and interruptions while delivering quality results.
  • You communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
  • You have knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to commercial lending.
  • You are proficient with Excel, Word, and other business and lending systems.
  • You enjoy collaborating with others and sharing knowledge through coaching and mentoring.
