Join Our Team of Research Assistants!

Systemic Justice is on a mission to radically transform the role of law in advancing racial, social, and economic justice for communities. We are seeking passionate Research Assistants ready to make an impact.

As a new NGO, Systemic Justice aims to partner with organizations dedicated to these causes, utilizing strategic litigation as a critical tool alongside advocacy and policy work. Our goal is to empower affected communities by broadening access to judicial remedies for those pursuing justice and equality, ultimately dismantling entrenched power structures.

About the Role

Research Assistants will collaborate closely with our team to support various research initiatives that bolster our operations, community consultations, and litigation strategies. Your contributions will help shape our understanding and approach to addressing systemic inequalities.

Key research areas include :

• Identifying opportunities and challenges in pursuing racial, social, and economic justice cases across Europe;
• Researching effective case management solutions;
• Analyzing laws, regulations, and jurisprudence pertinent to outlining litigation strategies;
• Summarizing successful models of movement lawyering and community organizing.

You will work under the guidance of our experienced team, which will involve clarifying research questions, developing a system for presenting your findings, and receiving constructive feedback.

Tasks will be assigned flexibly, allowing you to establish a timeline that fits your schedule.

As Systemic Justice operates primarily in English, proficiency in writing and speaking English is essential. Additional fluency in a European language is a plus. Being located within the CET time zone + / - two hours is also an advantage.

Conditions and Additional Information

This consultancy role is initially for a term of three months, with potential for extension based on ongoing research needs. Remuneration is set at 18 EU / hour, with hours agreed upon for each task.

Our team operates remotely with flexibility in schedules. We are predominantly available from 11-16 CET but encourage arrangements that best support individual work-life balance.
