Group Home Program Counselor (DSP)

For more than 50 years, Marrakech has supported over 1,000 individuals across Connecticut each year, helping people of all abilities build confidence, independence, and strong community connections.

About the role:

As a Group Home Program Counselor (DSP), you'll play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental and physical disabilities in a residential group home setting. You'll help people live safe, fulfilling lives while building trusting relationships that encourage independence and personal choice.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with daily living skills such as personal care, meals, and routines
  • Supporting medical needs and appointments
  • Following individualized support and behavior plans
  • Encouraging community involvement and social engagement
  • Completing routine overnight safety checks (for overnight staff)
  • Working collaboratively as part of a compassionate, supportive team

What we're looking for:

We're seeking reliable, compassionate individuals who are motivated to make a difference.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Connecticut Driver's License
  • Ability to obtain DDS Medication Certification, CPR, and First Aid

Experience supporting individuals with disabilities is helpfulbut not required. We provide paid training to help you succeed.

Pay:

  • $18.12 $18.54 per hour
  • Additional $0.50 per hour with DDS Medication Certification
  • Certification can be obtained after hire if not already certified
