Intensivist / Critical Care Physician

Overview

Client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Intensivist to provide high-quality bedside care in a community hospital setting. While our organization supports advanced telehealth technologies, we recognize the indispensable value of in-person, hands-on care in critical environments. We are looking for a physician who thrives in collaborative, fast-paced clinical settings and who is passionate about improving patient outcomes through direct critical care management.

This opportunity combines the stability of hospital-based practice with the innovation of telehealth collaboration, offering flexible scheduling and a supportive team environment designed to promote both professional fulfillment and work-life balance.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, the Intensivist will be part of a dedicated on-site care team responsible for the management of critically ill patients. The physician will collaborate closely with remote Tele-ICU specialists to ensure seamless continuity of care. The role is based in New Jersey and involves daytime inpatient coverage with telehealth support during night shifts.

Schedule and Requirements

  • Day shifts : 7 : 00 AM – 7 : 00 PM (night coverage provided by Tele-ICU team)
  • Manage approximately 10–12 patients daily in a 16-bed ICU
  • Minimum of 14 shifts per month
  • Active New Jersey medical license and DEA certification required
  • Board Certification in Critical Care Medicine (MD or DO)
  • Prior experience in critical care or acute hospital medicine preferred
  • Must maintain full compliance with credentialing and hospital regulatory standards

Key Responsibilities

Direct Patient Care

  • Deliver bedside care to critically ill patients in the ICU and other acute settings
  • Diagnose and manage life-threatening conditions such as sepsis, respiratory failure, and multi-organ dysfunction
  • Perform and oversee procedures including central and arterial line placement, intubation, and chest tube insertion
  • Implement and manage ventilator and hemodynamic support
