Janitor / Custodian

Department: Operations
Reports To: Operations Manager
Type of Position: Full Time
Hours Per Week: 40
Pay Range: $21–$22 per hour
Location: Carlsbad

Summary

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Entry-Level Janitor to help maintain cleanliness and safety in both office and manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will perform routine cleaning duties, support sanitation efforts, and ensure workspaces remain organized and presentable for employees and visitors.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize offices, restrooms, break rooms, hallways, and common areas
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors and surfaces
  • Empty trash and recycling bins and replace liners
  • Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces
  • Restock restroom and cleaning supplies as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness in manufacturing and warehouse areas
  • Follow safety procedures when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment
  • Report maintenance or safety concerns to supervisors
  • Support special cleaning projects and other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required
  • Previous janitorial or cleaning experience is a plus, but not required
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently
  • Good attention to detail and time management skills
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand, bend, and walk for extended periods
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic

Work Environment

  • Office buildings and manufacturing facilities
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, noise, and industrial equipment
  • May require evening, night, or weekend shifts

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform physical tasks including standing and walking for extended periods, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to continuously move throughout office and manufacturing environments and remain on feet for extended periods during scheduled shifts
