SECURITY OFFICER

Job Purpose : Enforces regulations, policies and public laws that contribute to the safety and security of patients, visitors and employees of the medical clinic. Performs routine security patrols in order to prevent thefts, destruction of property, disorderly conduct and other adverse incidents on medical clinic property. Performs security related functions, including but not limited to standbys, motorist assistance, locks / unlocks, report writing.

Essential Functions : include the following.

1.       Enforces regulations, policies and public laws that contribute to the safety and security of patients, visitors and employees of the medical clinic.

2.       Performs routine security patrols in order to prevent thefts, destruction of property, disorderly conduct and other adverse incidents on medical clinic property.

3.       Monitors and responds to security, fire and environmental alarms. Assist in follow-up as necessary.

4.       Investigates unusual incidents reported by HCC staff, visitors, physicians and patients.

5.       Provides excellent customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff

6.       Normal duties require extensive walking, standing, and / or running.

7.       Responds to and resolve problems, disputes and unusual circumstances as necessary.

8.       Handles disruptive individuals with good verbal intervention techniques. Combative individuals may require physical intervention.

9.       Assist with traffic control as necessary.

10.   Completes reports and incident documentation as necessary. Reports must be easy to read and accurate.

11.   Controls evidence, valuables, and lost / found items as necessary.

12.   Works in an independent atmosphere with minimal supervision and high public contact.

13.   Completes all mandatory training programs.

14.   Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements :

Must possess one or more of the following :

• Associates Degree or higher in any discipline
• Service in the active military, military reserves or National Guard
• Service in auxiliary police or police cadets
• Minimum one year of security experience
• CDL License preferred but not required.  Able to drive Mobile Clinic (RV)
