• Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Schedule: 40 hours per week (5 x 8-hour shifts)
• Weekend Requirement: Not required
• Holiday Requirement: As needed

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Cytotechnologist to support diagnostic services in a clinical laboratory setting. This role involves the microscopic evaluation of cellular samples to identify abnormalities and assist in accurate diagnosis. The position requires adherence to laboratory standards and close collaboration with pathologists and healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Examine and analyze cellular samples using microscopy
• Identify abnormal cellular structures and support diagnostic processes
• Prepare, stain, and process laboratory specimens
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of findings
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety and quality standards
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment
• Collaborate with pathologists and laboratory team members
• Follow established laboratory protocols and procedures

Required Qualifications

• 1–2 years of laboratory experience preferred
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Associate’s Degree (as defined by New York State Clinical Laboratory Licensing requirements) required
• Valid New York State Clinical Laboratory Technician License required

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Experience with electronic health record systems (e.g., EPIC or similar platforms)

Additional Requirements

• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
• Influenza vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced laboratory environment
