Swim-in Zone is looking for energetic, organized and serious Swim- inStructors / Teachers to be at the center of our busy, family-owned Swim School. Teachers / Swim-inStructors are the core of our business and play a most important part in possibly saving a child's life one day - a situation that we find happens every summer. Every year we hear great stories about how our inStructors have helped train a child to be safe around the water.

Our ideal candidate is applying because of their ability to work well with children and the desire to make a difference in a child's life. Candidates / Swim-inStructors must be able to interact playfully with children while keeping them on task. Some swimming experience is most helpful in explaining skills and terms to children! inStructors are able to dedicate 10-35 hours / week helping children learn and have fun!

Instructors’ priority is safety. As an instructor, the vision and mission of Swim-in Zone is based on you. Instructors provide a fun-loving, safe environment for all students while teaching the curriculum and appropriate skills and levels for each child. Instructors are superstars to the children!

• Maintain safety and procedures (see safety training and materials)
• Must follow all basic safety rules yourself. Wear your whistle.
• Responsible for transitioning of classes
• Calling students and bringing them to the water; instructor or aide in the water first
• Maintain Swim-in Zone’s curriculum while teaching
• Understand and be able to communicate the curriculum at all levels
• Provide SIZ level customer service while answering and communicating with parents
• Parents are paying for lessons, so give them your best!
• Must be prepared for all lessons including make-ups, subbing, etc.
• Responsible for filling out level sheets as well as certificates at the end of session
• Clean up the pool area / clean up after yourself
• All equipment must be put away at the end of your instruction time. Islands must be removed from the water unless another instructor is using it. Islands are removed each night and for events, like family swim.
• Dress Code : suit (one piece), shorts, shirt, whistle. See personnel manual
• For your safety, no hoop type jewelry will be permitted
• Wear your whistles. Whistles are available in lifeguard office

Our building was constructed especially for children's swim lessons - our pool is only 5' deep but has three 25 yd lanes and specially constructed steps and ledges to make the children feel comfortable and safe. The pool is always warm (88 degrees!) to encourage and motivate children. Swim-inStructors are specially trained in our curriculum so that we all teach using the same terms. We are constantly changing and mixing things up to provide the best lessons possible for the children, but our customer service is our most important component. We expect our clients to be happy with their lessons and will do whatever we can to ensure this!
