Head Start Teacher Aide - Syracuse

SCHEDULE : Full-time, 44 weeks per year, starting at $16.38 per hour.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience working with preschool children in a group setting.
• Good interpersonal skills and communication skills, and ability to work in team environment.
• Ability to lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.

(Employee will be enrolled by our agency into a Child Development Associate (CDA) credentialing program within 6 months of employment, to be completed within 2 years of employment).

RESPONSIBILITIES :

1. Assist the assigned classroom team in implementing a child-centered, quality early childhood program.

2. Assist in providing a safe, warm and supportive classroom atmosphere that supports each child's individual growth and development.

3. Support the involvement and engagement of parents or caregivers of enrolled children.

4. Support and assist site staff as assigned.

5. Assist in completing observations of children. Input daily attendance and meal counts into database.

6. Serve as a bus monitor / rider as assigned.
