Position : Data Scientist
Location : Hybrid - 4 days / week onsite in SE Michigan
Duration : Long-Term Contract
Overview
The Data Scientist will support business planning, sales strategy, and risk management functions by performing detailed analysis and modeling of used vehicle residual values, auction pricing trends, and key market drivers. This role is responsible for developing forecasting models, generating insights, and delivering clear analytical outputs to stakeholders across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain statistical and machine learning models to quantify relationships between auction prices and the drivers of used vehicle residual values.
- Produce accurate used vehicle residual value forecasts to support critical business processes.
- Analyze and decompose residual value gaps across brands and vehicle lines to identify competitive positioning and market dynamics.
- Create data visualizations and prepare presentation materials for leadership and business partners.
- Integrate advanced analytical tools, new data sources, and modern methodologies to enhance pricing and forecasting accuracy.
- Execute descriptive and inferential ad‑hoc analyses for management in a timely and insightful manner.
- Interpret model outputs to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
