Position Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Technician II to support enterprise-scale data center operations, including server hardware, networking, and infrastructure deployments. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and takes pride in delivering reliable, high-quality service.
As a key member of the data center operations team, you will be responsible for hardware lifecycle management, troubleshooting, documentation, and ensuring systems meet performance, safety, and service-level standards. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support mission-critical environments.
This role is well-suited for professionals experienced in data center operations, server hardware support, IT infrastructure, and network troubleshooting who are looking for a challenging contract opportunity with competitive pay.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, stage, start up, and decommission data center hardware, including servers, racks, storage devices, and network switches.
- Perform advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting to identify root causes and resolve hardware, OS, or network issues efficiently.
- Replace faulty components and execute hardware refreshes (e.g., memory upgrades, OS rebuilds) with minimal operational impact.
- Validate cabling, labeling, grounding, and equipment setup in accordance with deployment standards and safety requirements.
- Support new deployments and provide real-time issue resolution in production environments.
- Monitor server fleet health and assist with failure analysis and trend identification to support SLA compliance.
- Document processes, troubleshooting steps, and lessons learned to contribute to knowledge bases and SOPs.
- Communicate effectively with team members and leadership, escalating incidents as needed.
- Meet or exceed KPIs and SLAs by completing tickets accurately and efficiently.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, participate in required training, and promote a culture of safety and accountability.
- Collaborate with geographically distributed teams while maintaining the ability to work independently.
