About Us

At The Learning Experience , we are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children of all ages. Our On-Call Substitute Teachers play a vital role in maintaining classroom consistency and quality care by supporting classrooms during staff absences, schedule changes, and unexpected coverage needs.

We are seeking dependable, flexible On-Call Substitute Teachers who enjoy working with children and can step into classrooms as needed.

Position Summary

The On-Call Substitute Teacher provides temporary classroom coverage across multiple age groups, including infants, toddlers, and preschool children. This role requires flexibility, reliability, and the ability to follow established routines while maintaining a safe, positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-call classroom coverage in infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms
  • Follow daily schedules, routines, and lesson plans provided by the classroom team
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment at all times
  • Supervise children continuously to ensure safety
  • Support daily care routines including meals, diapering / toileting, rest, and transitions
  • Use positive guidance and age-appropriate behavior support strategies
  • Communicate professionally with staff and leadership
  • Follow all state licensing regulations, health, and safety procedures
  • Assist with classroom organization and cleanliness as needed

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience working with children in a childcare, school, or early learning setting
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to work with multiple age groups
  • Flexible availability and reliable attendance
  • CPR / First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Calm, patient, and professional demeanor
  • Ability to meet all state and center background clearance requirements
