SQL Database Administrator

Contract Role

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the phased migration of SQL Server.
  • Perform comprehensive installation and configuration of SQL Server instances ensuring adherence to best practices and architectural standards.
  • Conduct proactive database tuning and optimization to maintain peak health performance and stability for high-volume transactional systems.
  • Execute robust data migration processes ensuring data consistency and integrity throughout the transition.
  • Continuously review ongoing database changes performing impact analysis to prevent disruptions and ensure operational continuity.
  • Provide essential production support demonstrating flexibility in working hours to address critical database incidents and ensure high availability.
  • Collaborate closely with development and operations teams to support ongoing database needs and project requirements.

Qualifications :

  • Experience : 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator.
  • Migration Expertise : Proven experience with SQL Server database migrations ideally across different infrastructure platforms.
  • Performance Tuning : Strong knowledge and practical experience in SQL Server performance tuning and optimization.
  • Data Handling : Demonstrated ability to manage and maintain databases handling large amounts of data and high transaction volumes.
  • Production Support : Willingness and availability to provide flexible production support including outside of standard business hours when necessary.

    • Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have) :

  • Experience with OpenShift containers.
  • Proficiency in Linux Server environments
