About the Role

At Torus, we value speed and quality equally. We are seeking a skilled Hardware Design Engineer to lead CPU board design for our Flywheel Energy Storage System (FESS). In this role, you will design and develop schematics and PCB layouts for embedded digital and analog circuits supporting measurement, control, and communication functions. You will work with interfaces such as CAN, I²C, UART, Ethernet, and USB, as well as design power supply, ADCs and embedded control subsystems.

• Insanely detail oriented : You know every trace, and every pinout on the PCBs you design. You double check your schematics and layouts, and then double check once more before fabrication.
• Self motivated : You never need to be asked where you’re at with a project because there is already an update and summary in Slack for the entire team to review.
• Naturally collaborative : You evaluate the success of your work based on the impact your board designs have, which means you are constantly seeking context and feedback from the team of Hardware, Power Electronics, and Firmware Engineers around you.
• Balance speed with quality : You identify strategies and options which create near-term value, and solve current pain points, while creating options and flexibility into the future. You question constraints and help the team identify which boundaries to push.

Location + Travel The role is hybrid remote based in our South Salt Lake Headquarters Warehouse (air-conditioned) and some remote work.

Schedule Full-Time, Salaried

Compensation $125,000-155,000 (Note : We have the flexibility to hire at different levels, which may impact the corresponding pay range.)
