We are seeking a Senior Director, Product Design to spearhead the development and execution of a holistic design strategy that directly fuels The Weather Company's overarching Consumer product vision and business goals by leading a talented design team to craft groundbreaking, user-focused designs. This role will oversee the entire product lifecyclefrom ideation and strategy to go-to-market and continuous iteration. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, understands how to ship with quality and speed, and is passionate about building products that drive measurable impact.

The impact you'll make :

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive design strategy that aligns with the company's product vision and business objectives.
  • Lead the design team in creating innovative, user-centered designs that enhance the user experience and drive engagement.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the company remains at the forefront of design innovation.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of product designers, UX / UI designers, and visual designers to achieve their full potential.
  • Foster a collaborative and creative environment that encourages experimentation and innovation.
  • Oversee the end-to-end design process, from concept development to final product delivery.
  • Collaborate with product management, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to define product requirements and ensure seamless execution of design projects.
  • Ensure that all designs are user-centric, visually appealing, and aligned with the company's brand identity.
  • Lead the development of wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs, ensuring consistency across all products.
  • Champion the use of user research and data-driven insights to inform design decisions and improve the user experience.
  • Oversee user testing and usability studies to gather feedback and iterate on designs.
  • Present design concepts and strategies to senior leadership and other key stakeholders.
  • Communicate design principles, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistency and quality across all products.
  • Establish and enforce design standards, processes, and best practices to ensure high-quality output.

What you've accomplished :

  • 12+ years of experience in product design; 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of leading and scaling design teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a deep understanding of user-centered design principles, visual design, and interaction design.
  • Experience with user research, usability testing, and data-driven design.
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute with a hands-on approach.
  • Strong understanding of the intersection between design, technology, and business.
