detention, searching of male detainees, processing, safeguarding, security, and escort of detainees as required in the contract. / liliExercises surveillance and control over male detainees and maintains order and discipline. / liliAttends to male housing units, feeding, lavatories and the physical well-being of detainees, 24 hours a day. / liliMakes official entries in the assigned post logbooks that are legible and complete. / liliEnforces rules and regulations of the detention facility. / liliProvides care, custody and control of detainees. / liliRemoves detainees from holding areas using proper restraints and security measures. / liliGuards detainees at deportation or exclusion hearings, during transport, while receiving medical care and when and other duties as assigned. / liliPerforms all work duties and activities in accordance with organization policies and procedures. / liliFollows company-wide safety policies and practices and adheres to responsibilities concerning safety prevention, reporting and monitoring as outlined in the Officer Handbook and other Company Safety Policies. / liliSuccessfully completes all assigned training including defensive tactics and course requiring a minimum physical stamina. / liliConducts a security and sanitation check of the area prior to relieving the outgoing officer. / liliInventories all equipment and notates the results in the logbook. / liliReceives all authorized equipment and ensures that it is in proper working condition. / liliEnsures that your communication radio is in good working order with a fully charged battery. / li / ulpstrongQualifications / strong / pulliUS citizen or a person lawfully admitted into the United States for permanent residence. / liliMust have resided in the U.S. for the last five years and must maintain current / physical residency in the continental United States. / liliAt least 21 years of age. / liliPossess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED). / liliAssociate degree or bachelors degree desired. / liliA minimum of 1 year of security, law enforcement or military experience. / liliPass a criminal background and consumer credit check (no criminal record). / liliObtain and maintain a DHS / ICE government clearance. / liliSpeak, read, write, and understand English. / liliPass a medical examination, all pre-employment / random drug tests, and unexpected situations that may involve mental and physical stress such as disturbances, altercations, fires, and building evacuations. / liliMaintain a professional personal appearance, calm demeanor, and discretion with confidential information. / liliPossess a high degree of integrity, accountability and adhere to the American Correctional Association and DHS ICE National Detention Standards. / liliDemonstrate an ability to work with a diverse population of people, including people of different cultures, with different values and lifestyles, with a cross-cultural perspective. / liliConcisely and accurately prepares and writes narratives of incidents and other written reports. / liliDemonstrates proficiency in methods and techniques of securing and controlling detainees by following required training, policy and procedure. / liliPossess a high degree of integrity, accountability and adhere to the DHS ICE National Detention Standards. / liliMust pass a writing, spelling and basic math test to qualify. / li / ulpstrongPhysical Demands / strong / pulliAlways maintain physical fitness standards and proficiency with any special equipment assigned and used while employed on this contract. / liliThis position requires the candidate to maintain physical fitness standards and must be able to pass and maintain required physical testing requirements and standards which includes : / liliMust be able to lift heavy object up to 50lbs frequently and up to 70lbs occasionally. / liliMust be able to push a wheelchair bound individual weighing up to 300 lbs and helping individual in and out of chair. / liliMust be able to bend, stoop, crawl, kneel, twisting, reaching overhead and climb stairs, ladders and slopes periodically. / liliStrictly maintain physical fitness standards for law enforcement related position throughout your employment under this contract. / liliAbility to stand, sit, walk, bend and reach for extended periods of time. / li / ulpstrongPay and Benefits / strong / pulliHourly Rate : $27.97 during training period.
