Job Summary
SCHOOL NURSE
A school nurse provides health care to students and staff and promotes a healthy school environment. They also help students succeed academically by identifying and removing health barriers to learning.
Job Duties
- Provide healthcare : Provide basic care for injuries and illnesses and develop care plans for students with chronic conditions
- Conduct screenings : Perform regular health screenings to detect health problems early
- Educate : Teach students, parents, and staff about healthy habits like hygiene and nutrition
- Promote health : Advocate for the physical, mental, emotional, and social health of students
- Ensure safety : Make sure the school is safe for students and staff by preventing the spread of communicable diseases
- Ensure compliance : Follow local and national health laws
- Update records : Keep track of students' vaccination records and medical histories
- Administer Medication : Administer medication to students with health conditions and maintain accurate documentation
