Job specification

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Sterile Processing Department, ensuring instruments, supplies, and equipment are properly sterilized and available for patient care.
  • Lead and mentor SPD staff, promoting professional development, teamwork, and adherence to best practices.
  • Manage departmental budgets, including resource allocation, inventory control, and equipment maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and facility guidelines, including Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the department.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare management, Nursing, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Certification in Sterile Processing (e.g., CBSPD or CRCST) is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sterile processing, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of sterilization techniques, regulatory compliance, and infection control practices.
