Overview

ThispositionisaFuel Distribution System Operator who receives, stores, transfers, and issues fuel through pipelines at main line or terminal stations, receives fuel by fuel by tanktruck,connectslines, grounding wires, and loading and offloading arms or hoses to pipelines; and visually inspects samples of fuel, and checks gravity and flashpoint. This operator gauges tanks for water, temperature, and fuel levels, checks pumping systems for correct operating pressure or unusual noises, performs preventive maintenance and repairs on terminal systems,performsgeneralpreventivemaintenance on fuel tanks to include washing and paintas needed,performs general housekeeping and grounds maintenance for terminal,pipeline,and areas.

Responsibilities

• Receives,stores,transfers,andissuesfuelthroughpipelinesat terminalfacilities.
• Takesfuelsamplesinaccordancewithprescribedprocedures.
• Connectslinesandgroundingwirestotanktrucks.
• Visuallyinspectssamplesoffuel.
• Gauges tanks for water, temperature, and fuel levels.
• Checkspumpingsystemsforcorrectoperatingpressureorunusualnoises.
• Conductsinventory,supportsqualitysurveillance,andprepares andvalidatesinventory&accounting documentationusingBSM-Ecomputersoftwareandhardware.
• Alignstanks,valves,andmanifoldsforreceipt,issue,andintra-farmtransfers.
• Assistswithpreventivemaintenanceandrepairsonterminalsystems.
• Inventoryandaccountingfunctions.
• Performsgeneralhousekeepingandgroundsmaintenanceforassignedareas.
• Transfers fuel products via fuel pods to various internal facilities.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in operatingfueldistributionsystemsa plus.
• Qualified toreceive, handle,and issue petroleum products, toinclude recyclablejetfuel,and completetheaccountingandadministrativedocumentationrelatedthereto.
• Havepracticalexperienceinallfacetsof fueldistributionsystemstoincludepipelinesystems,storage tanks,pumps,valves,fuelfilters,truckfillstands,pantographs, andrecyclablestorageanddisposal components.
• Beabletoconvertgaugeandtemperature readingstoquantitiesofproductsandbeabletoperform basicqualityassurancefunctions.
• Beableto correlatepressures,temperatures,andquantitiesasread fromvariousgaugesandmeters normallyfoundat afuelfacility.
• Haveabasicunderstandingofwritten descriptionandinstructionspertainingtofacility operations,be abletoimplement cyclicmaintenanceprogramsandsafetyprograms relating toallaspectsoffacility operation,andhavedemonstratedexpertiseinspillcleanupprocedures, prevention andcontrol measures,relatedequipmentoperations,andmaintenance.
• Haveexperienceinandbecapableofvarioustypesofpetroleumsamplingofstoragetanks,trucks, andfillstands.

Salary Range
