Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Controller to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $, to $, per year.
Job Responsibilities :
Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes while ensuring accurate financial reporting under GAAP standards.
Oversee project financials by preparing WIP schedules, analyzing cost-to-complete, and reviewing project profitability.
Manage core accounting operations, including payables, receivables, cash flow planning, and construction-related financial workflows.
Partner with operational teams to support job costing, project reviews, change order activity, and bid preparation.
Maintain strong internal controls, ensure audit readiness, and support tax and regulatory compliance within a construction environment.
Requirements :
Ability to oversee complex accounting cycles and coordinate financial reporting deadlines.
Strong understanding of job cost structures, project accounting, and financial performance analysis.
Prior experience working with ERP systems used in construction or project-based businesses.
Capability to collaborate with both office and field leaders to support financial decision-making.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide, mentor, and develop accounting staff.
Qualifications :
A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related discipline.
10+ years of progressive experience in accounting or financial leadership roles.
Deep knowledge of WIP methodologies, percentage-of-completion accounting, and project financial management.
Familiarity with major construction ERP platforms.
CPA certification and effective communication across all levels of the organization.
