Director, Clinical Education
The Director, Clinical Education is responsible for the strategic leadership, development, and management of comprehensive educational programs across the facility. This role ensures the continuous professional growth of nursing and clinical staff, alignment with organizational objectives, and compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements. The Director provides leadership in fostering clinical excellence, promoting evidence-based practices, and supporting quality patient care initiatives.
Essential Functions :
- Develops, implements, and evaluates comprehensive educational programs and initiatives to promote clinical excellence and quality patient care across the organization.
- Collaborates with Nursing Directors, Infection Control, Quality Improvement, Risk Managers, Physicians, and other healthcare professionals to assess staff educational needs and design targeted programs to meet those needs.
- Coordinates with market, regional, and corporate education leadership to align facility-level educational programs with enterprise-wide strategic initiatives and objectives.
- Supervises and mentors the education management team and clinical educators, providing guidance and support to achieve organizational educational goals.
- Maintains a strong presence on nursing units, providing clinical expertise and supporting the development of nursing interventions and patient care strategies in accordance with policies, procedures, and standards.
- Oversees regulatory compliance and accreditation activities related to clinical education, including managing resuscitation training and clinical certification programs to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
- Establishes partnerships with educational institutions and community stakeholders to enhance the facility's educational offerings and reputation, including maintaining clinical contracts and fostering relationships with academic programs.
- Demonstrates expertise in teaching and adult learning principles to create impactful training programs that incorporate evidence-based practices and align with identified learning needs.
- Serves as a clinical resource to assist staff in assessing patient / family needs and implementing evidence-based plans of care, maintaining up-to-date clinical knowledge and skills in acute care.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
