Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Special Education Teacher is sought for a contract position in Cedar Rapids, IA, to support students across various age groups including early childhood, elementary, middle, and high school levels. This role focuses on delivering tailored educational instruction and support to students with special needs, fostering an inclusive learning environment that promotes academic and social development.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special education needs.
  • Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and related service providers to ensure comprehensive student support.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as necessary.
  • Maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning.

Desired Qualifications :

  • Certification or licensure in Special Education.
  • Experience working with students in early childhood through high school settings.
  • Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Ability to employ differentiated instruction techniques.
