Food Price Coding Research Assistant

We are seeking part-time, temporary research assistants for a nationwide study assessing the nutritional quality and cost of meals served in schools. In this role, research assistants will work with food price data received from schools to identify food items and extract corresponding price, unit, and amount information. Positions will begin in March or April 2026 and will likely last for 5 to 6 months, with the possibility of continuing work on other study tasks for additional months. Positions are fully remote and require a minimum commitment of 18 hours per week. Work hours are flexible between 8 : 30am and 6 : 00pm EST, Monday through Friday, with potential for working outside these times as the project progresses.

Position requirements :

• Bachelor's degree or prior experience with food service or nutrition research (degrees in nutrition, dietetics, or related field preferred)
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with navigating online systems
• Ability to follow and consistently apply standardized coding guidelines
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Prior experience with data entry and food coding preferred

Attendance and successful completion of all scheduled training sessions are required to work on the project. To apply, please submit a cover letter and a resume.
