A Talascend client in Lansing, MI has a contract opening for an Electrician . The main function of an electrician is to install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. A typical electrician is responsible for inspecting, testing, maintaining, or repairing electrical equipment.
Job Responsibilities:

- Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit using measuring instruments and hand tools.
- Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment; keep parts and supplies organized.
- Perform semi-skilled and unskilled laboring duties related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment.
- Disassemble defective electrical equipment, replace worn or faulty parts, and reassemble equipment using hand tools.
- Examine electrical units for loose connections and damaged insulation; tighten connections using hand tools.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification preferred.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance.
- Understanding of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
