Description
The Dispatcher will oversee the drivers of the distribution center to ensure that all orders are delivered within the required delivery windows. Orders may be time sensitive and could be going to schools, churches, funeral homes, businesses or residential homes.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Check the vans every morning to make sure they are in good working order and there is no damage to the vehicles.
- Dispatch drivers and make sure the routes are optimized correctly.
- Make sure all the attachments are on the orders before the drivers leave the facility.
- Check each driver’s route throughout the day to make sure they are taking pictures with each delivery and making sure confirmations are updated from the morning and evening route.
- Fill out any reports that are related to his or her job.
- May be required to make deliveries when not dispatching or helping inside the facility.
- Assist in other departments when necessary which can include boxing of the arrangements, cutting of flowers, or helping out in Operations.
- Receiving of Vendor deliveries when necessary.
