Overview
LMI seeks an Energy Consultant to provide expertise in energy project development, renewable energy systems, energy efficiency, and GHG (Greenhouse Gas) accounting and reporting. The ideal candidate will support federal facilities throughout their lifecycle by improving and expanding energy efficiencies and capabilities, with a focus on sustainability initiatives. Candidates should be based in the mid-Atlantic region, preferably near the Washington, DC area. This position will be supporting Customs and Border Protection.

Responsibilities
Support the client's facility energy project development efforts and sustainability initiatives by acting as a technical advisor for specific energy and renewable energy matters, leveraging strong data analytics skills to inform project prioritization and decision-making.
- Facilitate project meetings and collaborate with senior leadership, energy managers, architects, planning and budget staff, and facility managers on energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions.
- Perform quality assurance reviews of design documents and engineering studies related to energy projects.
- Track inventory and manage the performance of existing renewable energy systems portfolio, providing technical and planning support for renewable energy systems not managed under active performance contracts.
- Help manage existing Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPCs) by working with energy service contractors to identify, plan, and implement energy efficiency, renewable energy, and water efficiency measures across client portfolios.
- Track and manage legacy third-party finance projects, including annual measurement and verification (M&V) reporting compliance and technical support for existing energy performance contracts.
- Identify, pursue, and apply appropriate financing methods (ESPC, ESPC ENABLE, UESCs), grants (AFFECT), and federal appropriations to execute energy projects and facility improvements that result in significant energy savings and / or energy demand reductions.
- Conduct GHG inventories for large federal agencies and develop and implement GHG disclosure policies and procedures.
- Continuously update, analyze, and troubleshoot large client data workbooks and digital tools to identify and address issues and anomalies, evaluate year-over-year trends and variances, and populate necessary fields in GHG reporting categories with narrative responses.
- Advise federal agencies on data integrity considerations for both measured and estimated GHG data, including best practices for managing and validating large datasets.
- Prepare executive summary reports and white papers for resilience and energy data, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), feasibility studies, position papers, and similar analytical products.
